Still kickin'!

I must apologize for the delay in posts, no worries though, I'm not disappearing. I have lots of posts lined up, but I'll be revamping, redesigning, and probably most importantly...rebranding and renaming the blog. So we'll be going through lots of changes, I'm trying to get everything done for that and finalized before making more posts here. It's just taking more time than anticipated (doesn't everything?) But I look forward to getting things moving around here soon! Stay tuned!

Nails of the Day: Spring Brights

Another Word of the Shay: Nails of the Day for you! My last NOTD was a fresh soft look with a pop. This time around I'm showcasing bright nails. Instead of one shade or an accent nail, I went for two shades alternating, of course you can do this in any pattern you'd like, (some refer to it as colour-blocking for your nails).

NOTD: Joe Fresh Spring Mani

(Joe Fresh Mint)

Here's a new Nails Of The Day post for you!
I thought this was a great look using some fun Spring colours I just picked up.  I've been obsessed with mint lately, and it looks so lovely and delicate paired with creams and peaches, but I thought for a touch of whimsy, I'd throw in some dots in a tangerine orange, (which is a huge "It" shade this season).

DUPE ALERT: OPI Nicki Minaj Collection VS. Sinful Colors

Earlier this year, OPI launched a collaboration collection with Nicki Minaj, for Spring 2012. When I spotted it at my local Lawton's drugs, I was really interested in the three creams in the collection, which would have rung up at $29.97CAD before taxes. But before heading to the register I headed over to the Sinful Colors section and noticed that they were on sale 2 for $6, (regularly $3.99CAD each here, I know you lucky folks in the US can get these for as low as $1.99USD and even cheaper on sale). As you can guess by the title and the above photo, I walked away polishes, just not the ones I had expected.

Cute Coral Flats

Our word today is Coral. There are many shades of coral, but in general it's a pinkish orange. Sometimes it leans more pink, other times it's very orange, and you also have more primary red corals. No matter the shade, coral is yet again, one of the "It" colours for Spring and Summer and a colour I'm a big fan of.

I've been looking for some cute coral flats for a couple months now,  this week I stopped by Payless and SCORE! I found these little beauties. So cute and feminine with their peep toe and flower detail.

Swatch & Review: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

(Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters)
There have been a ton of interesting beauty products launched during my absence, and I'm excited to start reviewing them. Since this is the first week of Spring, I thought I'd make it our word of the day, and feature a product I think is perfect for this season (of course a great lip product can be used any time of the year, but these shades in particular fit in perfectly with Spring).

Since their launch late last year, the beauty blogosphere has been buzzing about the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. This weekend my local drugstore had these babies on sale for only $3.99CAD (Regular price $7.49-$10.99CAD for 0.09 oz.) I couldn't pass up the deal, and selected 4 Spring friendly shades (out of their 20 colour range), to bring my total up to 5 lip butters to talk about today. Full review, lip swatches, shade descriptions and more below.

In honour of St. Patricks Day, today’s Word of the Shay is Green. Green as a noun of course is the colour one gets when mixing the primary colours blue and yellow. And it just happens to be my significant other's favourite colour. Here is my leprechaun approved St. Paddy's day manicure featuring some fun green polishes.

(St. Paddy's Manicure with Sinful Colors Irish Green)
I applied my Nail Life Gripper as a base coat, followed by three coats of Sinful Colors Irish Green, and 1 two coats Icing Happy Go Lucky glitter polish. On my thumb, I skipped the glitter and painted on a small four-leaf clover with L.A. Colors Art Decor Green nail art polish. Lastly I sealed it all up with a coat of Nail Life Speed Demon topcoat. More photos below.
